Illustration Friday - Poise

I've been working on this piece for a show entitled "Beginnings." Here, Adam and Eve are poised on the brink of causing death to enter the world by disobeying the only command that God gave them - not to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

I love it Kristi. It's very dramatically poised yet beautiful at the same time. The moment right before all earthly life was forever changed....thank goodness we have the hope of a life to come!

This is an awesome illustration. I have never seen this scene done quite like it. You really expressed the action there. Great job.

Lovely and lush. I love that the animals are all watching, and the way the red of the apple stands out amidst the more muted colors.

Wonderful illo and story telling. It's all there. The tree's bowing/enticing gesture to the hopeful ending of the lion & lamb. Very nice work.

This is very mystical, Kristi. And Adam looks really very much like he is being led by a totally confident Eve. The animals have a look of worried anticipation. A beautifully created scene.

I love the atmosphere you've created! And Congratulations on your book! It looks beautiful...can't wait to get it. I didn't realize you do everything
digitally...The noodles in the pot on the cover just blows me away:)
Thanks for taking the time to leave a nice comment on my work.

Thank you all for your encouraging comments!

peg nocciolino: I'm delighted that you're blown away by the noodles on the Cora cover. Yep, I do everything from sketch to paint digitally. For the noodles I kept building up layer upon layer of noodles leaving each noodle slightly transparent. Then for the finishing touch, I thinly outlined around the top noodles with a darker paint color.

This is a beautiful illustration. It has a wonderful glow to it!

Thanks for commenting on my pics! I have to give credit to my husband, though, he took the majority of pictures on the trip. He has a very good eye!
