Illustration Friday - Poise

I've been working on this piece for a show entitled "Beginnings." Here, Adam and Eve are poised on the brink of causing death to enter the world by disobeying the only command that God gave them - not to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

  1. I love it Kristi. It's very dramatically poised yet beautiful at the same time. The moment right before all earthly life was forever changed....thank goodness we have the hope of a life to come!

  4. Lovely and lush. I love that the animals are all watching, and the way the red of the apple stands out amidst the more muted colors.

  11. This is very mystical, Kristi. And Adam looks really very much like he is being led by a totally confident Eve. The animals have a look of worried anticipation. A beautifully created scene.

  19. Thank you all for your encouraging comments!

peg nocciolino: I'm delighted that you're blown away by the noodles on the Cora cover. Yep, I do everything from sketch to paint digitally. For the noodles I kept building up layer upon layer of noodles leaving each noodle slightly transparent. Then for the finishing touch, I thinly outlined around the top noodles with a darker paint color.
