These top four sketches are from my sketchbook this week. I'd like to add a "Sketches" section to my website portfolio. Which ones do you think I should use? I have lots more sketches to choose from too; these were just the ones that I felt went with the Illustration Friday topic, "Worry."
I sketched these two, cute brothers in the subway station in New York. The smaller one kept trying to pull his older brother away from the yellow line that he's not supposed to touch while waiting for the subway. He was sooo worried that his brother would fall in. I think I captured the older brother's attitude pretty well here.
Like all the sketches, esp the little boy in water wings, and the two brothers from the subway! Just like an older brother to torment the younger sibling. My son like to do that to his younger sister! :P

I love them all! the two brothers remind me of my little brothers... when the older one finds something that aggravates the other, he keeps at it :)

ReplyDeleteYour drawings are very good & you have a good sense of how a child moves--I'm always surprised that so many children's illustrators do not! I like all of your sketches. Nice observation.

ReplyDeleteThank you all for your comments! The water wing boy got the most votes so far and he is my personal favorite too! I'll probably put most of these in the soon-to-exist "Sketches" section of my website. Poor penguins didn't get any votes, so I'll waddle them out of the way.
